Swooning for Swan

Just read the best article about Natalie Portman in the January issue of Vogue magazine. What an amazing woman. Besides the known beauty and brains, Natalie dedicates herself to perfectionist levels in everything she does, which is made obvious in her new movie Black Swan.

I'm dying over here...has anyone seen it yet?

A Kardashian Khristmas.

Alright, I admit it. I love watching "Keeping up with the Kardashians". Every time it's on I just can't help myself, my thumbs take control and I 'm unable to change the channel.
But I just can't figure out if their family Christmas card this year is uber- elegant or 80's Dynasty cheese drama?!

I think a family of that size and of that grandeur can pull this off. What do you guys think?

Goodbye LKL

Wow, after 25 years of hosting the same television show on the same network (which is a record btw), Larry King is finally calling it quits. He was always able to put a smile on my face with his witty remarks and dry sense of humor. Jane Lynch is on the final show tonight! This should be a good one FULL of surprises.

c'mon fall samples!!

I have received 3 out of the 21 fall 2011 samples!! These are from one of the new factories that I'm working with, and what a great way to start it off. They followed direction and used the correct fabric in the CORRECT color. Being able to visualize everything together in it's correct state- what a concept :) I'm still having a bit of a headache with one of the factories... I hope she pulls through for me and all the fall salesman samples will be here before Chinese New year. (just a little positive affirmation this morning).

venturing outside

I am writing this post from Starbucks! as you can tell from my enthusiasm, this is outside the norm for me. It feels so invigorating to go outside of the comforts of my very daily routine and enjoy society for a change. Wow, people actually just go to Starbucks to read, sit and socialize!! I have heard about this before but have never really opened my eyes and paid attention. Usually, I'm in and out before taking the first sip.
But I'm beginning to realize it's time to slow down and soak it all in. This could very well become a once a week treat for me... and plus, the coffee is much stronger :)

a small fish

There are of course pros and cons to working with China. Having never dealt with the production side of the business, I'm now certainty having a crash course in the subject. In fact, I just had to have the factory remake the size labels since they did not mark "made in china" on them! ( not my choice) but with importing, it must be clearly visible, another factoid that I just learned. What seems to make everything more difficult is the fact that I'm a very small fish in the huge Chinese pond. But I think that makes me work even harder. Not only to be on top every approval needed, but because one day, I want to be a big fish :)
