Watched the first two episodes of
Boardwalk Empire on HBO last night. It took a while to get into it but c'mon, swingin' 20's+ gangsters + Steve Buschemi= win/win/win!
However, I couldn't help but think that Boardwalk Empire could influence fashion the same way that Mad Men brought influenced the full skirt.
Drop waistlines, burnout velvets and sequins for next fall? Sounds good to me...
I am kind of digging the show though I was skeptical at first. I like Steve Buschemi enough but I could do without seeing any more sex scenes with him. Eeewwww! (I said much worse when my eyes were burned from the sight of it on screen).
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree that we will probably see some of the cool 20's attire and speak easy wear coming back in! Yay!
I bought a 20's inspired dress today so yes, I think you're onto something! I might give the show a try.. but kind of scared of the aforementioned sex scenes.

ReplyDeleteA big YES to the sequins! Yeah, Mad Men sure brought the oldies back. And Im enjoying it so much! I love the 20's-80's era!

OOOOhhh you'd do 20's sooo well too :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes. I would LOVE that. So funny, because I have been ever so desiring 20s fashion lately! And I had no idea about this show (which I now MUST watch too btw). Must have been my fashion sense tingling.
