Here is one of the three postcards that will be going out for the upcoming LA market week in October. ( you can see the other one on my fb page here.)
I'm dropping them in the mail today to almost 300 stores in the Western U.S. to get the name out there and hopefully start making appointments for the showroom.

Boardwalk Empire

Watched the first two episodes of Boardwalk Empire on HBO last night. It took a while to get into it but c'mon, swingin' 20's+ gangsters + Steve Buschemi= win/win/win!
However, I couldn't help but think that Boardwalk Empire could influence fashion the same way that Mad Men brought influenced the full skirt.

Drop waistlines, burnout velvets and sequins for next fall? Sounds good to me...

a good Friday

What a great way to start off the weekend! Went to yoga first thing this morning to clear my head. Then caught up with my friend Bianca over at Bink and Boo, who has also started her company out of the house while taking care of her young son (me: in awe). FYI: She is having a huge sample sale on her adorable pocketbooks right now. Then to top it off, found out that they sell Meyer's cleaning supplies at Walmart. Am I totally behind or is this something new? If you haven't tried Meyer's, it's pretty amazing. Great for the environment and smells delightful.

exciting news!!

First of all my little sister had her baby last night! I'm driving to Los Angeles first thing today to meet my new little nephew, can't wait!

Second, I had the most AMAZING facial from Amanda over at Facelogic in Encinitas yesterday. Not only does my skin look more youthful, she relieved quite a bit of stress with the shoulder and arm massage. Super great deals for first time guest. If you live in SD area, I highly suggest making an appointment to see Amanda.

and Thirdly, I have created a Facebook page for kendall k. clothing. I hope that you will all become fans :) I have attached a few images from my Spring 2011 collection.

fashion show

So as I mentioned last week, I have been asked to participate in a fashion show hosted by Mona Lisa boutique in Downtown San Diego. I will be showcasing 10 looks from the kendall k. Spring 2011 line. mammoth

I'm off with my hubby and two of our dearest friends for a nice long four day weekend in Mammoth! Day hikes, champagne toasts, delectable smores' and games by the campfire... This weekend will be packed full of memories!!

a door opens

It never fails to amaze me how once you stop concentrating on one thing and open your mind to different avenues, "the one thing" suddenly open the door for you. Case in point, the showroom! I have found a wonderful home for kendall k. at the Shayna Masino showroom in the desirable Cooper building. I am beside myself with excitement. After meeting with Shayna today, I feel like this is the beginning of a beautiful partnership.

Got this great image from my friend Jessica over at Destined to Design, which by the way, was just featured in the Huffington Post!!! It's totally going to be a "I remember her when" situation...GO Jessica! xo

Georgia May Jagger

Isn't this photo of Georgia May Jagger lovely? She is gorgeous and with each page I was in awe again! See the whole photo shoot in the September issue of W magazine. I don't know about you but for awhile there magazine layouts were all looking the same to me. This one is refreshing to say the least and the clothes, my goodness!

the week is starting out strong

Yesterday, I met with the lovely Soheila who owns the Mona Lisa boutique in downtown San Diego. She was a such a delight and immediately made me feel comfortable. She loved the collection and immediately asked if I would participate in a fashion show that she is hosting on October 1st in San Diego. of course I said YES!!
Tickets are $10 but you get FREE drinks :)

I will keep you posted on the details...

another lesson learned.

So, it turns out that the sales rep company that I blogged about Monday was a SCAM! It seemed like a great option but I could no longer ignore the red flags that kept popping up. Too many to mention but the major one was the fact that I could find NOTHING on the lines they claim to represent. In this day in age, if you have been in business for 4 years, seems to me something will pop up on the internet. With all of my doubts, I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau and sure enough they have a rating of "D" and 3 complaints in regards to receiving NO SALES! Those poor start up designers who gave $1500 in good faith. Tribes (or whatever the hell your name is) you should be ashamed of yourselves!
BBB is a great place to check before doing business with anyone.
